Using CBD oil for Stress: Does it work?
Cannabidiol (CBD) may help relieve anxiety according to early research. CBD is a type of cannabinoid, a chemical found in marijuana and hemp plants. However, CBD doesn’t cause the intoxication or the high feeling unlike THC so don’t mistake it as that.
How CBD Pharm oil can help stress:
With research so far, CBD oil is thought to work with a brain receptor called CB1. Tiny proteins called receptors which are attached to your cells that receive chemical signals from different stimuli and help your cells respond. However, the exact way CBD affects CB1 is not fully understood, but it is thought that it alters serotonin signals. Serotonin is a chemical within the body and plays a role in mental health, and depression is caused by low levels of serotonin which can also cause stress and anxiety.
The treatment for low serotonin is prescription selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors (SSRIs). The common SSRIs are Prozac’s and Zoloft’s. However, CBD could be another way to help your stress levels, but before deciding to use CBD speak to your doctor, because you could experience withdrawal symptoms if you suddenly stop taking your prescription medications. Symptoms of withdrawal include:
- Irritability
- Dizziness
- Nausea
- Fogginess
Research and Evidence
There have been many studies on whether or not CBD works for stress. In a study for generalized stress by the national Institute on Drug Abuse, they said that CBD has shown to reduce stress and their behavioural signs of anxiety along with it’s many other benefits.
However, in a human study on CBD, they tested whether it effected SAD (Social Anxiety Disorder). An oral dose of 400 milligrams of CBD or a placebo, the result showed that people who took CBD experienced a higher reduction in anxiety levels.
However, CBD Pharm reviews speak a thousand words both on our facebook page and instagram page.
Again the best way to find out is to try it for yourself.
